A4: How Can I Develop Cross-Cultural Competence?

Cross-cultural competence is the ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from other cultures. In this section, we look at the two building blocks of cross-cultural competence: (1) awareness of self and (2) awareness of others.  The two are closely linked. The more you understand about yourself—as a member of a culture and as an individual—the more you understand others.
