B1: It's About Community Involvement

Civic engagement is the positive involvement of people in their communities to make life better for the community as a whole. This section suggests specific ways that your assigned newcomers can become more involved in the broader community.

Your role as a CN is not to help your assigned newcomer family simply cope with living in the U.S. Instead, with your support, they need to reach a level of comfort and sense of belonging in U.S. society. As a first step, you will need to think of ways to connect them with the broader community.
