A5: Other Support Services for School-Age Children

Most U.S. schools provide support services to children with special educational or social needs. Newcomer parents from countries whose schools don’t provide such support may not be aware of the existence of these services. Other parents may be aware of the services but may need help accessing them.

It is important for newcomer parents to know about school holidays. They may want to better understand their children’s holiday activities, or they may need to arrange childcare when schools are closed.
